We Are Back…

We are back. Back from where?? We took a month and a half and while we worked, we also acquired a new "toy." We purchased a new Kawasaki Nomad motorcycle and we proceeded to put a lot of miles on it. See the picture of Dale and Toy.

The goal was to ride 1300 miles to my 40th high school reunion in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We made the ride successfully amid two days of high winds which isn't that much fun but was doable and we did it. We also bought a trailer and pulled it on the trip.

We have found that it is something that we can do together and we both enjoy it immensely so we have something else to talk about. We have been experimenting with two different type of communications devices to find the best one to talk with each other. We have found that there is a purpose to all of the equipment "bikers" have and most is quite useful, even a doo-rag to keep what little hair I have left.

So we hope to make a couple of trips this Fall, one to Duluth to see the Fall colors and the other(s) to be planned yet. We can do 350 miles a day easily and haven't tried any longer days yet. I would like to do that but really hate to just drive 500 miles just to say I can do it and then have to do it the next day to get home again for the workweek.
