Relationships - Is Your Husband Having a Mid-Life Crisis?
For years the stereotypical mid-life crisis was a 50 year old man getting a 21 year old girlfriend and buying a sports car. Mid-life crisis occurs because one is very aware of their time running out and they start to reflect on their career, use of free time and goals for the rest of their life.
Kids may no longer live at home, you may have seen friends have heart attacks or go through serious illnesses and sometimes that Peggy Lee lyric, "Is this all there is", goes through one's head.
A mid-life crisis may make a man moody and confused. So how do you help your spouse through this? If he is someone who never expressed his feelings it may even be more difficult to draw him out. Often a professional counselor is a good place to start so that an objective person can help him sort out his priorities. You can help him by trying to stimulate conversation on the topic and give him space to think about his inner self.
Whatever you do, don't blame yourself. Keep in mind that this process will take more than a week to resolve and it will probably be a roller coaster. This time period can make you insecure so it's important to see your friends, be compassionate , express your love and depend more on yourself. If you believe in your own strengths and you will both survive this storm.

With all the pressures we face today, this is just one more hurdle. I have friends who currently have this stress. I agree being strong and trying to keep talking does help..
Good post, thanks Jerry
