First Hallmark Company's Blogging Conference
Last week, I had the privilege to attend the first Blogging Conference hosted by Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. I was surprised by the invitation but was delighted to accept as I wanted to see what Hallmark wanted from bloggers and to see who else would attend.
We were met at the meeting room by a friendly man who graciously pointed out coffee and a continental breakfast to us. He was later introduced as Don Hall Jr, the president of Hallmark Cards and was very down-to-earth and pleasant to talk to. He explained that Hallmark was interested in talking with bloggers as they express themselves and Hallmark wanted to have greeting cards express human emotions much like bloggers can do.
We had several presentations ranging from a tour of Hallmark's Visitor's center which shows the history of Hallmark since 1905 when J.C. Hall started the company through today. There were many exhibits of cards, papers, ornaments and other memorabilia from the company's past.
I was surprised to find that Hallmark is a very progressive company and is trying to use the web to relate to their customers and to gain new exposure. They have a presence in the RED campaign started by Bono and are constantly updating the card lines to reflect today's culture.

It was great!
Heh, you link thief! I don't blame you. It took FOREVER to type out all those links and double-check that they were working. Looking forward to your next post.
Thanks Liz and Jennette, I'm trying to finish the rest of the story for today. Again it was great to meet you both.
